Check-Ins
The Goal Setting Challenge
Check-Ins
This discussion will be the first of ongoing check-ins. In this discussion, each person will have the opportunity to talk about their milestones and receive support from the group.
Pre-Discussion Preparation
We have included the following activities to help you prepare for the discussion:
Reflect on the milestones you set for this check-in. Did you reach them? Were they appropriately challenging and attainable?
Set new milestones for the next check-in.
Discussion Questions
During this discussion, your group will discuss accountability, support, and each member’s milestones. If your group wishes, each group member can share a grade they give themselves from 0 to 10 for each of their milestones. Otherwise, group members can share their general progress. At the end of the discussion, make plans for the next check-in. Below is a series of questions that may help facilitate your discussion.
How has social accountability helped you in the past?
What makes you feel most supported in your goals?
What strategies have you used in the past to make achieving your goals easier?
Are there any strategies you would be interested in trying as you pursue your annual goals?
Post-Discussion Activities
Below is an activity that you can complete after the discussion:
In light of your group discussion, adjust your new milestones if you want to, and then start working toward those milestones to prepare for your next check-in. y.
