The Goal Setting Challenge
The Goal Setting Challenge
Welcome to the Goal Setting Challenge!
The purpose of this challenge is to help you build a life full of the things you value. Watch the video below to get started.
Instructions
Follow the instructions below to complete the Goal Pursuit Challenge and begin a journey of personal transformation
1. Decide whether you will do the challenge by yourself or with a group.
While this experience is discussion-based and designed to be completed with other people, individuals can modify it. Rather than answering discussion questions in a group, an individual participant can reflect on them and record their personal thoughts in a journal.
2. Decide when you will begin the challenge and what cadence you would like to follow to complete the discussions.
This experience is designed to take five weeks. During the first three weeks, individuals will explore different topics that they may want to set goals around. During the fourth week, individuals will set annual goals. In the final week of the program, the group will complete their first check-in and make plans to continue their goal pursuit.
The cadence of the topic discussions can be modified to best meet unique needs and circumstances. Some people may prefer to do a monthly, weekly, or daily meeting, but whichever cadence is chosen should be consistently maintained.
Discussion
Topic
Discussion 1: Vocational goals
Discussion 2: Relational goals
Discussion 3: Mind-body goals
Discussion 4: Setting annual goals
Discussion 5: Check-in
3. Decide how you will record notes and insights.
As participants discuss each topic, they will gain new insights into what they want in life and the goals they want to set. Participants will want to decide how to record and organize these ideas. Some options include writing them in a journal, a computer document, or notes on a phone.
4. Complete the five discussions.
Each discussion is made up of pre-discussion preparation, discussion questions, and post-discussion activities.
Pre-discussion preparation: Activities to do individually before each discussion
Discussion questions: Questions to answer together during the discussion
Post-discussion activities: Activities to do individually after each discussion
5. Work toward your goals.
After determining the life you want to create, begin to make small changes to move toward your vision.
